As a freelance writer, radio host, and editor at Your Life! Magazine, I get letters and e-mails asking for more information about my life. Although I attempt to answer every correspondence, I must admit to being overwhelmed from time to time. For that reason, this month's feature is a self portrait of a country girl dedicated to living, loving, laughing, leading, and learning while making a difference in the lives of others. Thanks for asking!
My day is very versatile and I wear a variety of hats. Many years ago the media dubbed me "The Renaissance Woman with Soul because I speak several languages, have lived and traveled around the world while juggling several business pursuits including acting, modeling, writing, casting, producing, designing, coaching, consulting, hosting, lecturing, and running a charity. Although it seems that these careers are different, in fact, they are related in that they are all creative endeavors. Most people just call me "The Star Lady because everything I do revolves around the theme of stars. I am very branded. My company is Starstyle®, the charity I founded is Be the Star You Are!, my daughter and I work as The Stella Donne! I always wear stars and decorate with stars.
I grew up in a poor farming family, but my parents always encouraged me to dream big. They told me that I could be whatever I wanted to be as long as I was willing to work for it. My Daddy has always been my greatest inspiration as he believed he had fulfilled his destiny because he married the woman he loved and they were married 45 years, enjoyed his five children, and worked in a profession which was his passion.
Without a doubt, my greatest strengths are what I call my PEEP power personality: Passion, Energy, Enthusiasm, and Persistence. I just never give up.
My greatest weakness is I have difficulty saying "NO! I am learning that "NO! is a complete sentence. We all need to say "NO! more in order to say "YES! to our own needs.
Everyday is a new day for me and I am grateful to be alive, living in a free society where I can constantly re-invent myself. I have been very blessed. Besides maintaining my health and the health and happiness of my family and loved ones, my current goals are to:
*have my weekly radio show syndicated in 200 markets so that I can reach more people with our positive messages,
*host a national TV talk show (move over Oprah!)
* publish at least 4 more books with major houses
* book 3-4 speaking engagements per month
*become the corporate spokesperson doing all the media promotions for a special company.
*coach and consult with my clients to assist them in acting, media, speaking, and writing.
Of course, I want to be compensated fairly for my services.
For the charity, Be the Star You Are!, we need to increase our financial support so that we can hire a director and expand our services to help more people.
It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. Happiness is an inside job and you can do and be whatever you want to do and be in your life if you are willing to work long and hard.
